‘Sharknado 4' News & Update: Watch Its Hilarious Tribute To 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' [Video]

"Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens" aired on July 31, 2016 on SyFy. The fourth installment particularly pays tribute to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," peppered with lots of humor.

Previously, people believed that the shark-filled cyclone phenomenon was dealt with for good by scientist Aston Reynolds (Tommy Davidson). However, it seems that the Sharknados are back in "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens" to wreak more havoc towards the entire country, bringing other destructive elements like oil, fire, sand and hail, among others. Finn and his family were compelled to save the world again. "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens" features several funny celebrity cameos and references to pop culture, particularly the seventh installment of the "Star Wars" franchise.

Bustle revealed that "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens" presented several details inspired by the hit movie franchise, including the title, the narrative crawl at the start of the film and the new lightsaber-hand that April (Tara Reid) currently wields. Fin Shephard (Ian Ziering) returned, equipped with a chainsaw, as well as David Hasselhoff. The new team did their best to fight the Sharknados, which have enhanced into more powerful creatures. "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens" also presented the famous "May the Force be with you line," together with a misplaced "Star Trek" line.

PEOPLE wrote that Gil (Anthony Rogers) Fin Shephard's son is already five years old in "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens." In the third movie, Gil was just delivered from the belly of a shark. Carrot Top had a brief appearance as an Uber driver.

Cody Linley and mani Hakim took on the roles of Fin's son Matt and wife, Gabrielle, respectively. They got married on an airplane above Las Vegas and subsequently parachuted straight into a Sharknado. The characters who were eaten in "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens" include Carrot Top, Vince Neil, Jay DeMarcus, Wayne Newton and Adrian Zmed.

In "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens," aside from April turning out to have survived the previous ordeal in the third movie, she also believed that Fin and all of her family were already dead. April's dad, played by Gary Busey, made her into a machine that can fly, shoot lasers and recharge in "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens." Overall, "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens" featured more than enough cameo appearances and a fun and thrilling experience for all fans.
