“Inside”, an atmospheric puzzle game that hopes to succeed “Limbo” by Playdead is finally coming to the PlayStation 4 sometime the end of August.
This should add more players to “Inside” following previous releases to the Xbox One and PC back in June. Word of the PS4 version comes from VG247 who claims that word of its coming comes from trusted sources.
Playdead has yet to issue an official announcement though ‘trophies’ spotted over at Exophase all the more points to an imminent coming.
Critically acclaimed, high ratings
For those who are unfamiliar with “Inside”, the game has been development for the past six years and was originally pegged for launch last June 29. For game sites who had the privilege to see what lies ahead, the reviews have so far been impressive.
GameSpot gives it a high rating of 8/10, calling it a haunting and memorable game that promises to be a fine successor to “Limbo”. It goes on to explain that the puzzles are rarely difficult, not to mention offering impressive detailed environments and narratives.
Polygon rates “Inside” near perfect (9.5/10) and believes that it has done more than what “Limbo” had to offer. IGN gave the game a perfect 10/10.
With the positive reviews, it doesn’t seem surprising that the gaming audience is aching to see what the game has to offer. So news of its PS4 coming is pretty much welcome.
"Our goal is of course to get Inside into the hands of as many gamers as possible," bares Playdead to Push Square. "But we can't say anything about other potential platforms at this point."
With August here, gamers looking to see for themselves if “Inside” is indeed that good will find out in a couple of weeks. There is no word on official pricing for the game as of this writing.
