"Prison Break" made an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 to prepare for the arrival of its fifth season. It turns out that Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) is still alive and may reunite with love interest Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies).

"Prison Break" aired its supposed series finale in 2009. At SDCC 2016, fans were treated to a full glimpse of the upcoming reboot on FOX. The video showed that Michael survived his previous ordeal and is currently in a prison in Yemen. It is inevitable for him to plan his next escape with the help of his friends and brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell). The clip teased the start of Michael's grand breakout, using a mere piece of chewing gum.

Wentworth Miller told TVLine that "Prison Break" has always been similar to a comic book due to its heightened reality, at the same time, featuring more serious and emotional notes. Miller said that the manner that his character managed to survive the end of the previous season is unexpected, justified and cool.

Furthermore, there are also talks that the "Prison Break" star will reunite with his ultimate love, Sara, who already has a new husband (Mark Feuerstein). Sara and Michael has a son, whom the latter has to meet personally. Michael may have also undergone some changes in the interim, considering that he has done some dark things while he was away. There is also the possibility that Michael may end up dying again.

Hall of Fame Magazine revealed that several former members of the crew will also return in "Prison Break" Season 5, such as Purcell, T-Bag (Robert Knepper), Sucre (AmauryNolasco) and C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar).  The revival will consist of nine episodes, with Michael and Sara's love story being one of the main themes. There will be more interesting points to cover, including Michael's relationship with his seven-year-old son.

Some of Michael's enemies are still present and new ones are expected to be waiting for him. There will be more conflict and perhaps bigger issues when the season begins. "Prison Break" Season 5 is set to launch sometime in 2017.
