"The Last of Us" that was released way back 2013 was very successful hit. Now gamers are urging the game developers to have its sequel.
There were rumors before that the next chapter for "The Last of Us" was already in the works, that is a hint that was made by voice actor Nolan North during a Question & Answer portion at MertoCon. There are now reports that are saying that "The Last of Us 2" is actually becoming a reality thanks to a recent trademark filed by Sony that could be any relevance to the franchise.
According to a report in xbox360asylum, Sony has listed a label for something called 'Days Gone', and it was categorized as a new video game, it was filed last December 28, 2015. Although it was announced as a new game, it could possibly mean that it is linked with "The Last of Us" either as a subtitle or a whole new game title.
As there are some games that doesn't use the same title for its sequels. And looking from the sound of the trademarked title, it could possibly feature something that is post-apocalyptic.
Even if the game sequel has actually been confirmed by the developers themselves, this does not mean that the game will be released soon. Many fans have even accepted the fact that it won't make it before the end of 2017, but are expecting it to be ready by 2018, as Game & Guide reported.
As with any sequel, most of the "The Last of Us" gamers are expecting that the sequel will be much better than the original, which already contains many twist and turns, high gore level and death scenes. Fans are looking forward to a higher psychological gore level that might not be acceptable to some gamers.
