‘NCIS: New Orleans’ Season 3 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: ‘Agent Merri Brody’ Departs

“NCIS: New Orleans” is prepped for its third season though one character may not be on board with the team. Zoe McLellan, who plays “Agent Merri Brody” will not be included though her departure somehow falls in line with the events that went down last season.

McLellan Takes the fall

To recall, Agent Brody got herself in a bit of a bind when she associated herself with a security agent named “Agent Russo”. It turns out that the guy was a former military zealot and such tarnished her association and credibility with the team.

The whole “NCIS: New Orleans” teams was placed on administrative leave following that scenario. But now it looks like the blame will be pinned on Brody, or at least that is the (creative) reason that TV Line is trying to point out. Vanessa Ferlito will reportedly step up to take the place of McLellan.

Good creativity but why did McLellan really leave?

The story angle involving McLellan’s character leaving “NCIS: New Orleans” does make sense. But going back to the real world, what truly gives?

To date, no clear reason was given for her exit although Cinema Blend hints at possible issues like her character not living up to the hype or due to some personal reasons. Did she beg off voluntarily or was she cut off by the production team?

The answer to that is anyone’s guess and “NCIS: New Orleans” viewers will need to get used to a different setup starting in season 3.

All eyes will be on McLellan’s replacement, Ferlito who is best remembered for “Graceland”. Aside from that, the team will be under close scrutiny following the bad mark garnered from season 2.

The answers to most of those queries are expected to be addressed once season 3 of “NCIS: New Orleans” kicks off. The show officially returns on Sept. 20.
