James Cameron confirms 'Avatar 2' has been cancelled?
"Avatar" creator James Cameron reportedly hinted that "Avatar 2" could no longer happen. Speaking to thousands of fans during the recently-concluded San Diego Comic Con 2016, the veteran director has said that the much-loved franchise was originally designed to be a trilogy.
Everything has changed when James Cameron and his writers started overwriting, which later resulted in another film. So, after "Avatar" 2, avid fans of the movie series should expect two more films to come.
Moreover, James Cameron revealed that films after "Avatar 2" will be released two years after the last. In other words, "Avatar 3" could hit theaters in 2020 while the "Avatar 4" could premiere in 2022.
