Folks who have been hoping to see “The Sims 4” come out for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will have to move on with word that no game console version will be coming out.
“The Sims 4” versions for the Xbox One and PS4 have long been in the rumor mill where it was previously believed that technical difficulties were the reason behind the delay. Nothing really followed thereafter and now the belief is that the game will not be made available.
Poor sales a factor?
Aside from the expected technical problems expected from “The Sims 4”, Neurogadget points out the poor sales angle as a probable cause. That claim is up for confirmation.
As far as technical problems, porting issues were singled out as one of the key reasons behind the inability of EA to come out with a version for the Xbox One and PS4. Adding more woes to the issue is the fact that “The Sims 4” has already gotten several DLCs which could bring up storage concerns on game consoles.
Fast-forward to “The Sims 5”?
With the future of seeing “The Sims 4” fuzzy, the best thing for gamers and fans right now is to move on and hope that “The Sims 5” does not follow the same fate.
Virtual reality will reportedly be integrated into “The Sims 5” a feature that should align it with new features integrated into the game consoles. Also, the fact that there is no announcement yet from EA could give game developers ample time to create a game playable across the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
With no “The Sims 4” looming for the PS4 and Xbox One, such will break the tradition of having the simulation game across all gaming platforms. Its preceding games were made available so this would break the tradition. More of that was covered in a previous post.
