"Destiny: Rise of Iron" is going to be available just in time for Christmas with its September release, but fans are already speculating what's next for the Bungie game series, namely "Destiny 2." The sequel was promised to players by publisher Activision earlier this year, and is the follow up to the 2014 BAFTA Award-winning Bungie game.
Speaking of Bungie, it seems that the developers are already hard at work for "Destiny 2," as they should be close to completing the exciting, huge new expansion for "Destiny," titled "Rise of Iron." The expansion is scheduled to arrive on September 20. In a recent Bungie blog post, Bungie shared that they celebrated "Bungie Day" on July 7, wherein they "come together as a team to unify around a vision for the future," a future with "Destiny 2" in sight.
The developers teased that they are indeed looking forward to new content they are creating for players "on a long enough timeline," and this may imply that they have already laid the groundwork for "Destiny 2" following the September launch of "Rise of Iron." Meanwhile, fans can head over to Bungie to check out a cryptic photo they posted along with the blog entry, in which the screen was blurred out to hide any possible ("Destiny 2"-related?) spoilers. Earlier this year, Activision said that the game should be out in 2017.
Meanwhile, for those who cannot wait to get their hands on the newest "Destiny" expansion "Rise of Iron," VG247 reports that they can now get a glimpse of what the new Cosmodrome looks like, compared to the current one, in a cool new video. Check it out below.
Bungie is also reminding fans that they can get the Iron Gjallarwing Sparrow vehicle for their own when they pre-order the "Rise of Iron" DLC ahead of its September release. Moreover, they are also cooking up something special during this year's Gamescom, so watch out for that as well. Head over to bungie.net to check out their full blog.
