Ben Affleck's solo Batman flick can be as serious as it wants to be, but it will never top "The LEGO Batman Movie". The trailer for Will Arnett's so-serious-he's hilarious Dark Knight is finally here and it confirms what everyone already knows: there is a Batsuit for every occasion.
"The LEGO Batman Movie" Trailer Is Funnier Than Being Hit With Joker Gas
"The LEGO Batman Movie" trailer opens with Batman trying to ask his computer how to put the Joker in Arkham Asylum "quickest route, no freeways". However, Alfred has put a Parental Lock on the computer. GASP.
It turns out that the concerned father figure/butler has decided that it is time for Batsy to make some friends. Enter Robin The Boy Wonder. OHMYGOSH at least 3 times.
Their first meeting becomes a chance to try on an amazing array of Batsuits and Robin throwing his tights in Batman's face. Batman WHOAH.
If "Justice League" Has Superman And Wonder Woman, "The LEGO Batman Movie" Has All That AND The Joker
"The LEGO Batman Movie" trailer also offers a glimpse at the LEGO Justice League, which happens to have Green Lantern. Take that, "Justice League."
In addition to that, there is a brief scene showing The Joker. Plus, the film reinforces the need to wear seatbelts despite what Batman says ("Life doesn't give you seatbelts!").
So will "The LEGO Batman Movie" be better than Ben Affleck's solo Batman film? The answer is a resounding, "You're darn right, WHOAAHH!"
"The LEGO Batman Movie" stars Will Arnett as Batman, Michael Cera as Robin, Zack Galifianakis as Joker, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl and Ralph Fiennes as Alfred. Mariah Carey will play the Mayor of Gotham City.
"The LEGO Batman Movie" hits theaters on February 10, 2017. In the meantime, enjoy Batman's beatboxing skills in the video below.
