Assassin's Creed Movie Cast: Who We Think Should Star In The Film

We learned this past summer that Michael Fassbender would star in Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed film. The video game series has featured several-hooded assassins, including Altair, Ezio and now Connor. So we do not know if the film will feature any of those assassins or will feature an all new story and assassin.

"Michael Fassbender was our first choice," said Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of Paris-based Ubisoft Motion Pictures. "Michael is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor."

Fassbender has shown quite the range in his films from playing the charismatic villain in "X-Men: First Class," to the emotionless android David in the science fiction film "Prometheus." He will also co-produce the "Assassin's Creed" film.

The first game featured bartender Desmond Miles being kidnapped by Abstergo Industries and forced to interface with the Animus, a device that replays genetic memories.

Desmond is then forced to relive the memories of his ancestor Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad, an Assassin during the time of the Third Crusade. Altaïr's memories reveal that he was attempting to stop the Templars from gaining and using the "Pieces of Eden," each piece has a power. I think the movie should center around the first game, although I really like the time period of Assassin's Creed 3.

So with that said lets begin our casting call for five of major roles:

Desmond Miles/ Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad

Michael Fassbender should play both roles, seeing as how Miles and Altaïr are distant relatives. Miles was actually raised to be an assassin in the Black Hills, South Dakota. So he should be physically in shape and have the skill set of his ancestors to a degree. I think Fassbender can play both the role of the novice and reluctant assassin in the present and the professional assassin in the past.

Lucy Stillman

She is genetic memory researcher who works for Abstergo Industries in the Animus project. The evil corporation is also holding her captive, but in truth is actually a member of the Assassin's Order. The character was voiced by and model on Kristen Bell. I wouldn't mind her returning to the role but I wouldn't oppose someone else in the role either. Kata Mara or her sister Rooney Mara could be very good in this role.

Dr. Warren Vidic

In Assassin's Creed, Dr. Warren Vidic is the head of the Animus project and the main antagonist of the series. Vidic only goal is finding the Pieces of Eden and preventing a prophetic event from happening. I would love to have Jeff Bridges in this role; he plays villain roles with such a cold-heart and callous attitude. An honorable mention for the part is Stellan Skarsgard from "Thor."

Al Mualim

Is the leader of the Brotherhood and the one who demotes Altaïr to the rank of Novice. He then assigns him the task of assassinating nine people, all of whom are Templars, to regain his former status. I would like to see "Resident Evil" and "The Mummy" actor Oded Fehr play the role. I think of how well he played the leader of a secret brotherhood in "The Mummy" is one of the reasons I like him for the role of Mualim.

Robert de Sablé

De Sable is the Grand Master of the Templar Order and a lieutenant in King Richard I's Crusader army. He is the main villain throughout most of the first game. Robert is manipulative and even gains the trust of King Richard, despite secretly plotting against him. Ralph Fiennes could pull this role off. He has portrayed characters such as Nazi war criminal Amon Goeth in Schindler's List, Count Almásy in The English Patient, and Charles Van Doren in Quiz Show. While he is a little older than what I imagine the de Sable to be, his acting abilities are just to hard to pass up.
