With the release for Dead Or Alive 5 a little under a week away, Tecmo Koei has seen fit to release a launch (quite literally, folks are gettin' smacked in the air all over the place) trailer for the next addition for is famed fighting franchise. Check it out below!
That definitely looks like it smarts. Which part? I'd say pretty much all of it.
Set two years after the destruction of the TriTower, DOATEC headquarters, DOA 5 sees fighter Helena Douglas begin rebuilding DOATEC, this time with the aim of using its technology for peaceful ends. She has ordered the dissolution of the Biotechnology Division, the indefinite suspension of the Military Division's Projects Alpha, Epsilon and Omega, and the expulsion of all members of the Donovan faction from DOATEC's offices around the world.
Helena has announced that she intends to hold the fifth Dead or Alive tournament, to show the world the principles and philosophies upholding the new DOATEC.
Dead or Alive 5 is the first of the series to bring in characters from other fighter franchises. The Virtua Fighter series lends fighters Akira Yuki, Sarah Bryant, and Pai Chan to the DOA roster.
Team Ninja also released two other new and original characters to DOA, that of MMA fighter Mila, and Canadian taekwando master Rig. Fans of eye candy are in luck, as special outfits are on the table as pre-order bonuses.
Those who pre-order the Collectors Edition from GameStop and Amazon will get "bunny-style swimsuits." GameStop will offer the "DOA Angels" set, granting players white swimsuits for Kasumi, Leifang, and Hitomi, and the "DOA Devils set," which offers black swimsuits for Christie, Tina, and Ayane.
Said TECMO KOEI America's General Manger, Amos Ip, "We wanted to create a truly compelling package of rewards to make our 'DOA Day' launch a day to celebrate for the fans that have made DEAD OR ALIVE synonymous with intense hand-to-hand fighting combat. Whether it's a stunning set of female fighter swimsuits for preorders or an entire luxurious package complete in an embossed metal case for the Collector's Edition, players will get something that enriches their gaming experience."

And for fans of DOA's physics for certain "body parts," you'll be happy to know these outfits will allow for that kind of "movement." According to Director Yohei Niibori, movement of "those parts" will differ depending on which costume they happen to be wearing at the time.
The collector's edition will also include a copy of the official visual book, a copy of the original soundtrack, and a full-color wall poster. The no holds barred tag team action begins when DOA 5 is out for PS3 and Xbox 360 later this month, September 25.
