This October, "Arrow" season 5 will see Oliver Queen face one of his worst nightmares in the form of a villain that he unknowingly created. Fans and viewers can be reminded of Oliver's past, in which he was keen on murdering the bad guys back in season 1, and it seems this will come back to haunt him come season 5.
According to Screencrush, producer Wendy Mericle described the new bad guy was affected by Oliver's ways back in season 1, and he is now ready to take his revenge against the hooded hero. Mericle described the villain as a "collateral damage who lost someone to the Hood and [has] spent the last several years training and plotting for revenge. He will be a true dark mirror to Oliver Queen."
It seems that the villain will be named "James," and as per his casting description, the character will be "a man on a mission [to] avenge a tragic, violent loss from his own, years-ago past." More interestingly, Stephen Amell, who plays the titular hero, admitted that he is just a regular dude with no superpowers, which is something very interesting to see play out once he meets Oliver again in "Arrow" season 5.
Meanwhile, a new villain isn't the only thing fans should expect once "Arrow" season 5 arrives this October, as the show is also set to unveil the final words of Laurel Lance or Black Canary, who viewers last saw in her death bed in the season 4 finale. While it was a sad move to eliminate one of the show's main characters, the showrunners said that they are indeed moving forward with the story and do not have any tricks up their sleeve, so don't expect her to be truly alive and well in some surprising twist.
What fans should expect, however, is Black Canary's last words to Oliver unveiled in the season premiere of "Arrow" season 5, Cinemablend reports. Fans should also expect more spoilers as this weekend sees the highly anticipated San Diego Comic Con.
