Forza Horizon, an open-world spinoff of developer Turn 10 Studios' racing simulation series, will receive monthly downloadable content, with the game's first expansion will be made available on Dec. 18, according to Digital Spy's interview with Playground Games design director Ralph Fulton.
No specific details about December's expansion were revealed, but Fulton told Digital Spy that Forza Horizon's DLC expansion packs would differ from traditional Forza car packs.
"I'm not going to say any more than it's an expansion pack distinct from the car parks we ship, which we'll absolutely continue to do because we have a brilliant production pipeline that finds awesome cars and gets them into the Forza format," said Fulton.
The monthly expansions will be available as part of Forza Horizon's DLC Season Pass. The Forza Motorsport series is know for providing gamers with additional cars and content for well into the game's life cycle.
Forza Horizon is the first game in the Forza Motorsport series to be an open-world game, and is developed by Playground Games, a studio composed of many employees of other game studios with experience in making racing games.
Forza Horizon is an action racing game set on the epic open roads of Colorado with a thrilling music festival backdrop. The game allows player to drive around Colorado and look for races that are separate from the main festival.
