As with most season finales, that of "The Flash" left viewers and fans on the edge of their seats, wondering about the repercussions of the actions undertaken by their favorite hero.
Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) left Iris (Candice Patton) with a kiss before he zoomed off into the past to correct mistakes and save his mother. It seems that he did not take into consideration what would happen afterwards, which is where "The Flash" season 3 will pick up.
Fans of the "WestAllen" ship, however, are hanging on to hope that the two would still end up together despite Barry's interference with events of the past. In fact, it seems that the two would get even closer once "The Flash" season 3 debuts this October.
YVR Shoots has reported that Gusti and Patton were seen shooting a kissing scene at what looked like Iris' home. Filming is currently underway in Cambie Village in Vancouver. Where the two actors were recreating what seems to be a scene that already took place during the season finale, when Barry kissed Iris goodbye.
Fans are speculating that the kiss may mean a beginning of a relationship, or an alternate universe in which Barry's mother is alive and all is well, including his romantic relationship with Iris. Fans witnessed Gustin walk up the steps and share a moment with Patton before kissing her, which means that viewers may get to see a glimpse of the action when "The Flash" season 3 begins this October.
Meanwhile, Movie Pilot is theorizing that John Barrowman, who plays Malcolm Merlyn in "Arrow," may appear in "The Flash" season 3 as well. The 49-year old actor recently signed a sweet deal as a series regular to appear in several DC shows, including "The Flash." Does this mean that his presence may not bode well for our favorite hero? According to Movie Pilot, Barrowman's Malcolm Merlyn may appear in the "Flashpoint" storyline as a younger version of himself, way before he joined the ranks of the League of Assassins.
Fans will have to wait and see if Barrowman's Malcolm Merlyn makes a significant mark in the lives of Barry and the rest of the gang when "The Flash" season 3 returns to The CW on October 4.
