Of all the things to play a ridiculously hard game like "Dark Souls 3" with, this particular game streamer decides to use a freakin' dance pad—and beats the game with it, too.
Twitch streamer ATwerkingYoshi first got "Dark Souls 3" when it came out back in April, and attempted to beat the game using the aforementioned dance pad. It took him 44 total in-game hours, 364 total deaths, and three tries to beat the game's final boss, the Soul of Cinder.
Strangely enough, ATwerkingYoshi has pretty much mastered playing games on a dance pad that other players wouldn't play with a dance pad. It's not really like anything you'd expect, though—it isn't a furious dance battle that you could catch in your local arcade, but rather a series of standing on certain parts of the pad to hold the corresponding button, which makes more sense for "Dark Souls 3" when you think about it. He does look like he knows what he's doing when you watch the video.
In addition to "Dark Souls 3," he's beaten games like "Super Mario 64" and "Kingdom Hearts 2." Now he's planning to beat "Dark Souls 3" using a regular controller... and then after that, using bongo controllers. (He's apparently not kidding, and I can't imagine it at all.)
Meanwhile, despite "Dark Souls 3" being the conclusion of the trilogy, new DLC for the game will be arriving soon in September. The first of only two DLC expansions for the game (before the series is ultimately closed) will focus on an entirely new era. A storyline in the game's setting, according to the series' designer Hidetaka Miyazaki in an interview with Kotaku (which is all he can reveal at the moment).
Meanwhile, the second DLC expansion is set to release in early 2017.
