Fallout: New Vegas Game Maker Obsidian Entertainment Is Crowd-Funding New RPG 'Project Eternity' (Watch Here)

Obsidian Entertainment revealed a new mysterious RPG entitled Project Eternity, a game the studio describes as its dream project. Project Eternity will be an isometric, party-based RPG set in a new fantasy world. The combat will use a tactical real-time with pause system for positioning your party and coordinating attacks and abilities.

Obsidian was founded in 2003 after the disestablishment of Interplay Productions' Black Isle Studios. Although the studio has created original IPs, Obsidian has mostly developed sequels to existing games like Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II.

The studio is promoting Project Eternity as taking the best elements of games like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. Obsidian is trying to make Project Eternity a reality by using the website Kickstarter to fund the game. The Kickstarter goal for the RPG is $1,100,000, which is higher than usual for video game projects that appear on the crowd-funding site.

Here is what Obsidian Entertainment has written about Project Eternity on the Kickstarter website:

"Obsidian Entertainment and our legendary game designers Chris Avellone, Tim Cain, and Josh Sawyer are excited to bring you a new role-playing game for the PC. Project Eternity (working title) pays homage to the great Infinity Engine games of years past: Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment.

Project Eternity aims to recapture the magic, imagination, depth, and nostalgia of classic RPGs that we enjoyed making - and playing. At Obsidian, we have the people responsible for many of those classic games and we want to bring those games back... and that's why we're here - we need your help to make it a reality!

The studio's Kickstarter page currently has 7,700 backers and has already raised $345,000 with 32 days to go before deadline. You can watch Obsidian's Kickstarter video below...
