The new Insomniac IP formerly known as Overstrike is now called Fuse, and publisher Electronic Arts released a new trailer showcasing the new name. Fuse is a four-player cooperative action video game due out for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
The upcoming shooter's premise is centers around an alien energy source called the "Fuse" falls into the wrong hands. The CIA sends in the elite unit called the Overstrike 9 team to retrieve the source.
The members of Overstrike 9 are Dalton Brooks, a reformed and sarcastic mercenary, equipped with an energy shield, Naya Deveraux, a mischievous, lifelong thief, equipped with a cloak device, Isabelle Sinclair, a gifted, but rebellious young scientist, equipped with a mass bubble gun, and Jacob Kimble, a decorated detective with a bit of a temper, equipped with an electric crossbow.
Not much is known about the games gameplay but Insomniac new trailer shows off some of the game's weaponry. The game's weaponry appears to be filled with creative weapons like the bubble shield, cloaking devices and electric crossbows. The game promises that players will able to develop agents along a deep upgrade path.
Shaun McInnis of Gamespot got to play the game and had this to say, "there are so many people focused on what Fuse isn't, when what it is happens to be pretty damn fun." "It's a good thing, too, because Fuse looks great with its brand-new engine driving all the action. This is a game that deserves a distinct personality, and it doesn't seem that Insomniac has forgotten that personality is something it does quite well."
The trailer showcases a lot of insane action and some sort of giant robot. You can watch the new trailer below...
