Apple seems to be on a winning streak. The company won a patent case against Google-owned Motorola in a Munich court in Germany Thursday.
The court found Motorola infringing a user interface patent that was held by Apple. This is a huge blow to Google.
The German regional court found Motorola's smartphones and tablets guilty of infringing Apple patent that involves a feature known as "rubber-banding" or "overscroll bounce" which tells users that they have reached the end of the list by bouncing back.
Android has worked around the feature and has a blue glow instead of the bounce in the current versions, which Samsung has incorporated but Motorola has not.
Though Google can appeal against the ruling, Apple can bring in a Germany-wide permanent injunction by depositing a $32.6-million bond.
"If Apple posts another 10 million Euros, it can also obligate Motorola to destroy any infringing material, and for yet another 10 million Euros it can get a recall," FOSS Patent said.
FOSS Patent reported that Apple won two injunctions --slide-to-unlock patent and the photo gallery page-flipping patent, against Motorola were won earlier this year.
Google acquired Motorola Mobility for $12.5 million last year. Major technology companies have been fighting patent infringement battles in courts worldwide.
In August, Apple was awarded over $1 billion in damages against Samsung by a court in California.
