'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' Latest News & Update: Set Photo Confirms Colin Firth's Harry Hart Now Really Back From The Dead

One of the best parts of "Kingsman: The Secret Service" is, undeniably, Colin Firth's infamous last scenes. It was an insane killing spree in a bigoted conservative church somewhere in the American Bible Belt set to Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama." If that's weird, that's because (spoiler!) Firth's Galahad was under the spell of Samuel L. Jackson's character's neurological wave—after he manages to complete his rampage, he gets shot himself. That was the end of Galahad/Harry Hart, and we thought we'd get the sequel, "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" without arguably the most popular character in the film... or so it seemed.

Last April, "Kingsman" star Taron Eggerton (who plays Eggsy) pretty much confirmed that Colin Firth is coming back for "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" as he tweeted the movie's official poster. The poster, to save you a quick trip to Google, says, "Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated," essentially hinting toward Galahad's true fate. Now, we have some real proof, as reported by GamesRadar—Colin Firth is on the set, filming the sequel.

"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" star Pedro Pascal (whom "Game of Thrones" fans fell head over heels for when he played Oberyn Martell) posted a photo on Instagram with himself and Firth, hashtagging #Kingsman2 in the photo's caption. If that isn't sure proof that Galahad is back, then... we don't exactly know what to tell you.

Some initial thoughts—even though this has been common knowledge for a while now, I wish the movie took great care to make his return a surprise for at least the official trailer. I get that the presence of Firth, whose Galahad was a real charmer, was sorely needed in the film's promotion in order to create some buzz, but I believe "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" had enough momentum and goodwill from the first movie to draw fans back to it. Here's to hoping they find a good way to bring Galahad back from the dead, because there's no going back from a point-blank gunshot like he took.

"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" is scheduled for release on June 16 next year.
