Gay 'Bachelor' Type Reality Show Hosted By Lance Bass Confirmed

A new reality show inspired by "The Bachelor" will appear on Logo soon. Compared to the original dating series and the various spin-offs that it spawned, the upcoming show, titled "Finding Prince Charming," will focus on gay couples.

Former 'N Sync member Lance Bass will host "Finding Prince Charming," which is set to launch in fall 2016 on Logo.

Variety wrote that Bass is apparently a good pick for "Finding Prince Charming," considering that he is open about his sexuality and a huge supporter of the LGBT community. The singer has also established a reputation in hosting after he quit the boyband several years ago. Bass is represented by WME.

TVLine reported that "Finding Prince Charming" will feature 13 charming and gorgeous suitors who will be staying in the same house. They will all compete to win the heart of one of the country's most eligible gay heartthrob.

In "Finding Prince Charming," the sexy suitors will do their best to edge each other out to win a moment of intimate connection with the searcher. The 13 suitors in Finding Prince Charming will gradually be eliminated one by one until the heartthrob finds the right man who wins his heart and have a chance a true love.

The long search will ultimately end in an exclusive relationship.

Pamela Post, SVP of Original Programming for Logo, stated that the network has a long history of featuring stories focused on the LGBT community, with great characters that transcend pop culture.

"Finding Prince Charming" will bring viewers on an exciting journey through modern love and relationships in a manner that only Logo is capable of.

The Hollywood Reporter stated that Finding Prince Charming is produced by Brian Graden Media. Graden, Dave Mace, Nick Murray and Fred Birckhead will serve as executive producers. VH1 and Chris McCarthy, Post and Stevenson Greene will oversee the show for Logo. Jen Passovoy will serve as producer of Finding Prince Charming.

"Finding Prince Charming" follows the long-term success of the Bachelor franchise on ABC, as well as the many spin-offs it created. Finding Prince Charming is not actually the first gay dating series ever.

In 2003, Bravo launched "Boy Meets Boy," although the male searcher remained unaware that many of his suitors were actually straight guys. The show did not generate a huge fan base at the time and lasted only one season, consisting of six episodes.

More updates and details on "Finding Prince Charming" are expected in the following weeks.
