Today's a big day for Apple. There's about 2 hours left to go before they begin their big event in San Francisco, but a couple things have seemingly been confirmed ahead of any official iPhone announcement.
First off, the name. No one was quite sure if Apple was going to stick with their formula of naming their next gen phone as simply "the iPhone 5." Maybe people were hoping for something a bit more catchy, but this doesn't seem to be the case. A simple search for "iPhone-5" reveals the following URL: https://www.apple.com/pr/library/2012/09/12Apple-Introduces-iPhone-5.html
Now, the site's not live yet, so don't bother clicking it. But this does seem to confirm that the official name is "the iPhone 5." So there's that.
Next up, it was rumored that the phone would also have LTE. Do another search for "iphone-LTE" and you'll wind up with this: https://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE
Like the previous link, it too is not currently active, but it does help paint a picture for what we can expect from the phone.
Despite all the "leaks," including photos, videos, rumors, and more, there's still a million and a half other things that people are wondering about the iPhone 5. Things that we'll all hopefully learn later today from Apple during their big iPhone reveal.
The event will take place, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, CA, 10:00 AM, WST.
