'Sherlock' Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Andy Murray Corners Benedict Cumberbatch After Wimbledon Win; Offers To Be Sherlock's New Sidekick [Watch Video]

Andy Murray scored a victory against Milos Raonic to win his second Wimbledon title. After receiving his trophy, the tennis champ immediately approached Benedict Cumberbatch since he was apparently a fan of "Sherlock" and was excited about Season 4.

Fox Sports wrote that after the Wimbledon championship match on Sunday, July 10, 2016, Andy Murray proceeded from the Centre Court to the Wimbledon clubhouse to greet several of his fans and some A-listers. Among others, Murray got to meet his TV idol, "Sherlock" Season 4 star Benedict Cumberbatch.

A backstage video was posted by the official Wimbledon Facebook page, showing Murray and "Sherlock" Season 4 star Cumberbatch happily talking to each other. Cumberbatch watched the match with his wife, Sofie Hunter.

Murray told the "Sherlock" Season 4 actor that he was a huge fan of the show. In similar fashion, Cumberbatch also told the tennis star that he admires his brilliant plays.

Newsweek noted that Andy Murray immediately asked how many episodes "Sherlock" Season 4 will have. Obviously, he was not too keen about the news that each season will only comprise of three episodes.

The two stars proceeded to talk about their families, since they were both new fathers. The "Sherlock" Season 4 actor also asked about Murray's five-month-old daughter, among other things.

Murray was very happy to know that Cumberbatch was currently working on "Sherlock" Season 4. Cumberbatch also confirmed that he will only be doing three episodes for the entire season.

Yahoo News revealed that Murray watched boxed sets of "Sherlock" as his preferred form of entertainment during long flights. In 2013, Murray said that Cumberbatch was the best actor to portray the British detective, adding that the latter's show is the best TV series he has ever seen.

Murray obviously cannot contain his excitement over "Sherlock" Season 4.

Not a lot of details about "Sherlock" Season 4 is currently available. News surfaced that Toby Jones will take on the role of Culverton Smith, in one episode based on the story "The Adventure of the Dying Detective," written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

There are rumors that "Sherlock" Season 4 will be the last in the series.

Aside from the "Sherlock" Season 4 star, Andy Murray also had a pleasant exchange with Prince William and Kate Middleton after the match.
