FIFA '13 Game Publisher EA Is Listening To Fan Feedback And Adding Single-Player Content To Command & Conquer: Generals 2

Command and Conquer: Generals 2 or simply Command And Conquer will include a single-player game mode, in response to fan feedback, according to Electronic Arts. The game was originally intended as a retail game, but was revealed last month that the game would be a free-to-play title.

EA president Frank Gibeau told Polygon in a recent interview, how fan feed back has shaped the title.

"Our intention with Command & Conquer is to create a triple-A experience," Gibeau said. "And by that I mean we're using Frostbite tech, we're using very high-end graphics. Does that mean it's not going to have single-player? No, that's something we've obviously heard loud and clear that is important to people."

Gibeau said EA listen to that fan feedback and thanks to the free-to-play model, were able to implement the campaign mode.

"The beauty of free-to-play, is that we can adjust and adapt to what we're hearing as opposed to, 'I'm sorry, it's two months from ship and it is what it is," Gibeau said. "It's a very different model because you don't have to build as much. You build in response to your audience."

On Aug. 15, it was announced that Generals 2 would be repurposed to a free-to-play game known as simply Command & Conquer. The content, which has been built for Generals 2, will be incorporated into the new C&C game, according to a blog post on the game's official site.

Gibeau said the changes to the game were made to reach the largest possible audience, while making a triple-A title.

"We started with, 'How do we build a triple-A Command & Conquer experience?'" he said. "Is the best way to go to market, premium or is the best way to go to market, free-to-play? We're like, 'We'll get the biggest market with free-to-play and we can evolve it over time based on what we see happening inside the service."

Command & Conquer will be available as a free-to-play title for the PC in 2013. Gamers can register for a chance to be selected for exclusive closed beta access here.

It seems EA is finally listening to fan feedback or worst-case scenario the game features subpar single-player content. Hopefully EA will get it right and deliver a cohesive product that has great single-player and multi-player content. What do you think comment in the section below...
