Forza Horizon Release Date And New Trailer

The makers of Forza Horizon Turn 10 and Playground have released a behind-the-scenes video that introduces the creators and talks about the game's general premise. This is the first video in a planned series that will lead up to the game's release date.

Horizon is the first game in the long running racing series to feature arcade style play and an open-world structure. Players take part in a racing event called the "'Horizon Festival" in Colorado. Players have the ability to freely explore the roads surrounding the festival and have races away from the main competition.

"Forza Horizon to me is about the freedom to go and explore the world," said Joe Brisbois, the game's contact lead program manager. The racing is different in Horizon because you got traffic. You got traffic constantly going, you got planes flying overhead and helicopters. You got distractions."

Forza Horizon is the first game in the series not developed by Turn 10 studio, and instead is being made by Playground Games as the main developer with Turn 10 supervising the project. Veterans of Codemasters and Bizarre Creations, two other UK-based developers known for racing titles, founded Playground games.

Forza Horizon will offer gamers open roads and aesthetically beautiful and authentic cars that are fully customizable when the racing game releases on the Xbox 360 on Oct. 23.
