If you've been wondering about when you can expect new levels and skaters for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD, but can't find the answers anywhere, here's your chance to find out. SiriusXM Satellite Radio announced today that Tony Hawk himself will sit down on the east coast for an exclusive, live Q&A session with an audience of SiriusXM listeners at the SiriusXM studios in New York City.
The event is part of SiriusXM's "Town Hall" series, past stars of which have included Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Coldplay, Ringo Starr, Roger Waters, and more.
The "Town Hall" special will feature the legendary skateboarder and host of SiriusXM's Tony Hawk's Demolition Radio answering a variety of questions from the studio audience about his career as a skateboarder, his life's work of building skateparks for underprivileged communities and more. An HD mashup of his popular game franchise, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater recently became available for download on both PSN and XBLM earlier this summer.
Boasting polished graphics and improved visuals, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD returns us to classic levels from the first two games, like the Hanger, Venice Beach, Downhill Jam, and more. Classic characters like the Birdman himself return, and we see a few new faces like Chris Cole and Nyjah Huston, even Tony's own son, Riley.
Tony has said he hopes to add more features, levels, and characters down the road. In an April interview with IGN, Hawk said, "I want to release all new levels and not just live in the past like this...new skaters, new tricks, things like that, and release them as digital content so they're affordable." We've already seen sneak peeks of THPS3 levels like the "Airport" and "Los Angeles" levels, which will throw back in the revert move. However, no date has been pegged for when the new content will be released.
"I'm looking forward to talking with the live audience and answering questions with Stacy," said Tony Hawk. "I'm proud to be a part of his new documentary and I hope to enlighten fans about our history together and the evolution of action sports in general."
"SiriusXM's Town Hall with Tony Hawk" will air live on Faction, channel 41, on Monday, September 10 at 7:00 pm ET. The special will be hosted by fellow skateboarder and Hawk's longtime friend, director Stacy Peralta.
