Fans of Emma Watson were excited to learn that their favorite star will lead in the live-action adaptation of the Disney classic "Beauty and the Beast." However, Watson recently admitted her apprehensions about singing.
Emma Watson Scared Of Singing
In a report by Telegraph UK, Emma Watson admitted that she finds singing on-screen for the first time terrifying. Emma Watson will be playing Belle in the live-action adaptation of the Disney classic "Beauty and the Beast."
Emma Watson revealed that there were parts in the film that she had to sing. Singing for the first time on-screen felt nerve-wracking according to the "Harry Potter" star.
While she finds singing on-screen terrifying, she said that fans would find it interesting to see her in a different role. She added that the last time she sang was during stage plays when she was young.
Emma Watson Takes Singing Lessons
To prepare for her role, 26-year-old Emma Watson admitted that she had to take voice lessons to prepare her in the Bill Condon's adaptation of the 1991 animated classic, "Beauty and the Beast."
The whole experience was re-learning something that wasn't forgotten entirely.
"I sing, so that's really unexpected," she said. "I've never had to do that for a film role before, and I think people will be interested to see me do something very different like that."
Meanwhile, Luke Evans was quick to assure that Emma Watson has a great singing voice as reported byMTV. Evans said that the feisty Emma Watson has a great singing voice to boot aside from her excellent acting skills. Evans will portray "Gaston" in the live-adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast."
Alongside Emma Watson, British actor Dan Stevens will be acting as the Beast. Stevens is best known as Matthew Crawly in Downtown Abbey.
