A recent rumor on Star Wars suggests that Mace Windu is alive. Lucasfilm has also announced that it is poised to wrap up production for "Star Wars: Episode 8."
During a promotional project for the "Legend of Tarzan," Samuel L. Jackson gave fans some hints on his character Mace Windu in the "Revenge of the Sith."
During the event, he brought up the fact that his character did not die in the "Star Wars" movie. He further said that George Lucas was on his side with the thought and that Lucas said that he is okay with Jackson's character possibly being alive.
Jackson also elaborated on his thoughts about what could have happened to Mace after his duel with Darth Sidious.
Viewers and fans alike are now speculating that he will make an appearance on "Star Wars: Episode 8." Jackson shared that he thinks there is room to explore the idea that Windu survived, Geek.com shared.
Although there is limited information about "Episode 8," Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Pictures already shared that they are about to wrap up filming.
Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker, said in a Tweet that they will be wrapping up on July 22. Production started in February 10.
While this is good news, some fans are sad since July 22 is also the second day of the San Diego Comic Convention. Hence, it is assumed that the schedule will prevent the cast and production team to make their appearance in the event.
Nonetheless, it is confirmed that they will be attending a Star Wars Celebration in London on July 15. In fact, Hamill shared that during the celebration, they will be holding a panel, where fans can ask questions for about an hour long.
More so, a Future Filmmakers panel will be held on Sunday, July 17. The panel will be hosted by Pablo Hidalgo, the head of the Lucasfilm Story Group.
It will also feature Kathleen Kennedy, Lucasfilm's president, Coming Soon reported.
In other "Star Wars" news, the IMDB page for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" was updated with the listing for a new actress with the name "Valene Kane." She will be playing the character of Lyra Erso.
News of the character first came out in January 2016. Initially, fans thought that she will be Jyn. However, Kane's birthday noted that she was born in 1987.
Hence, it is speculated that the character she will be playing would be a sister to Jyn or Jyn's mother in a flashback sequence.
