Following the success of “Jurassic World," it only seems natural to find fans wanting to see a sequel. If rumors out in the open hold up, “Jurassic World 2” may be out by 2018.
“Jurassic Word 1” racked in $1.6 billion in box office earnings and hopefully the planned sequel can improve on that. Looking back at the original “Jurassic Park” series, the films that followed didn’t exactly do so well.
As far as director Colin Trevorrow, his thinking cap needs to be put on properly to come up with another top-grossing film. He and co-writer Derek Connolly need to come up with something big and special, guided as well by executive producer Steven Spielberg. But how exactly will they do that?
'Armed' Dinos coming in 'Jurassic World 2'?
“Jurassic World” saw the usual chase where dinosaurs preyed on humans. Weapons were used but hardly any effect so that is perhaps the first thing that comes to mind.
Among the breed of dinos, the raptors were the wisest of them all. They could open doors and think before they act. That has been their persona since the “Jurassic Park” days. So what could they possibly feature when “Jurassic World 2” comes out?
“Vic Hoskins” (Vincent D’Onofrio) wanted to see raptors armed via Digital Spy. While they may likely be a new breed of faster and more powerful, adding a rifle or a machine gun could happen. But somehow, it brings to mind “Planet of the Apes” though the gorillas were able to talk. How about talking dinos?
More than just theme parks in 'Jurassic World 2'
There is no clue yet on where the setting would be for “Jurassic World 2”. Theme parks have grown redundant but Trevorrow could change that in 2018. It could change the landscape like maybe setting it up at an advanced science facility – “Aliens” style.
There are plenty of possibilities and hopefully it will no longer be the theme park setting which many have repeatedly seen in the past films via The Playlist.
'Jurassic World 2' Release Date
As for the release date, word has it that it will happen on June 7, 2018 in the UK with the US following two weeks later. Timing could be a reason behind the said date though the closest blockbuster films to rival it seem to be “Godzilla 2” (June 8) and Marvel’s “Black Panther” (July 6).
