Ubisoft And Gearbox's Brother in Arms: Furious 4 To Be Renamed (Watch Trailer Here)

An axe to the brain, an electrical shock to the groin and a chainsaw to a Nazi seated at the porcelain throne. This is a far departure from previous titles in the Brother in Arms franchise, perhaps too much of a change.

Brother in Arms: Furious 4 will be rebranded into a separate entity, according to an announcement by developer Gearbox at PAX Prime. The story was original reported by Kotaku.

Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 was presented as a more comical sequel to the Brothers in Arms titles. The approach could be compared to recent film "Inglorious Bastards." The game follows four unconventional characters of an unnamed unit, as they take a fictional journey through Germany in search of Hitler.

The four protagonists are Chok, a Native American soldier who uses hatchets to dispatch enemies; Montana, a large lumberjack who carries a large machine gun; Crockett, a Texas native who brands his fallen enemies; and Stitch, an Irishman who shocks enemies with a Taser, as seen in the trailer.

The previous title, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway was a first-person shooter and the third entry in the series. The series featured the men of the 101st Airborne Division and puts players in the role of Staff Sergeant Matt Baker during the later stages of World War II. The game was a realistic portal of war and continuation of earlier titles.

There is no official release date for the game and the new title of the game has not been announced, but gamers can still pre-order the title on Ubisoft's website for the game under the Brother in Arms: Furious 4 title.
