All things must come to an end. Though fans would surely agree that PBS' hit "Downton Abbey" ended too soon. 'Downton Abbey' Cast News - Penelope Wilton

Penelope Wilton is one of the anchor "Downton Abbey" cast; she  has been around since the show's pilot as Isobel Crawley - Grey. Fortunately for her, with the show finally finished, she finally found a role in the Hollywood film BFG.

Wilton admits that the Hollywood role was made possible because she was a "Downton Abbey" cast, reports Sunday Post. Prior to being cast in BFG, her acting engagement in the U.S. were limited only to theatre work.

So how did "Downton Abbey" help Penelope bag a Hollywood role? Apparently, Steven Spielberg and his wife loved the series and when a role in BFG opened up, Spielberg thought Penelope would be a fit.

So it was actually Steven Spielberg who has Penelope Wilton to portray a role in BFG. Even Wilton says she was not expecting it to happen at all. And what's even more amazing is the role Spielberg offered to her. Yes, she was asked to play the Queen in the BFG movie, which is an honor in itself.

Will There Be A 'Downton Abbey' movie?

This is a very exciting topic to discuss. There were persistent rumors that a "Downton Abbey" movie is in the works.

Regarding the "Downton Abbey" movie rumor, this is what Penelope has to say, as reported Vanity Fair. "There might be a film coming up next year," Wilton explains, adding that "It'll be very interesting to see what period it goes into. I think it will be 1926, and they can't go too far forward because my character would be dead."

To all "Downton Abbey" fans, it appears there might be some basis to those rumors after all. In fact, a "Downton Abbey" cast is likewise expecting it to push through.

And it is not hard to imagine that a movie would be made. "Downton Abbey" was a very successful series and also critically well-received that its chance of success in the big screen is highly likely to happen.
