There's only a little over two weeks left before "Ice Age: Collision Course" hits theaters and the fifth in the "Ice Age" series brings back beloved characters Manny (Ray Romano), Sid (John Leguizamo), Buck (Simon Pegg), Diego (Denis Leary), Scrat (Chris Wedge), Ellie (Queen Latifah), and Shira (Jennifer Lopez) as they face the asteroids that threaten to wipe out the planet. The Mike Thurmeier and Galen T. Chu directed film is set ot be released on July 22, and 20th Century Fox has just released new promo material in New Zealand in support of the film.
The newly released video titled "Sid and Buck's Adventure" is an introduction to a video series that takes the two characters on a mission to learn more about winter. According to Scoop, the video series helps viewers "discover why there’s no sun in winter, what causes an aurora, why scientists monitor the weather and the various pieces of equipment used, and why fire is a huge risk."
The video follows Sid and Buck as they explore the Antarctica research facility Scott Base and learn more about the world around them. Check out the video below.
Meanwhile, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" actress Stephanie Beatriz took to Instagram over the weekend to share her excitement on the upcoming film. The 35-year old actress has given life to Gertie, a Dromaeosaur who is the daughter of Gavin ("Parks and Recreation"'s Nick Offerman).
Back in November, Beatriz took to Instagram to share a pic of Gertie, the blue and red-winged dinosaur who is also sister to Roger ("New Girl's" Max Greenfield).
While fans are waiting for the release of "Ice Age: Collision Course," they can download Zynga's match-3 game "Ice Age: Arctic Blast." According to Variety, the game features two scenes from the movie, and a feature that enables users to purchase movie tickets through the app. iOS and Android users can download "Ice Age: Arctic Blast" for free via their corresponding app stores.
"Ice Age: Collision Course" comes out in theaters on July 22.
