Konami today announced an exclusive consumer pre-order opportunity with Amazon today for Konami's upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
Only two slight problems. The pre-order is only available during PAX Prime, and to those who pre-order the game at Konami's booth at the show. Consumers who pre-order the game at the Konami booth will receive a limited edition t-shirt available only to attendees of the show.
Ah well, it's just a shirt. If it was, say, a high frequency katana blade, well then I'd be a little disappointed I wasn't attending PAX Prime.
But for those who are going, you'll be able to pre-order Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on the show floor at Konami's booth, booth #442. Already under way, PAX goes until September 2.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance sees a major switch from past Metal Gears, with a much bigger emphasis on action than stealth. I Taking place well after the events of Metal Gear SOlid 4: Guns of the Patriots, players control the cybernetic Raiden, where they'll slice through different PMC shock troops.
It's also one of the only Metal Gears where acclaimed director Hideo Kojima is taking a step down. At the helm of Revengeance is creative producer Shigenobu Matsuyama.
Other characters from the Metal Gear series, Olga Gurlukovich, her daughter Sunny, and Solidus are rumored to appear, likely in flashbacks.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is scheduled to release on February 19, 2013, and will be available for the PS3 and XBox 360. You can check out Raiden slice n' dice in a gamplay trailer here.
