A couple of diehard "Game of Thrones" fans are concocting theories about one character whose lineage and fate has repeatedly been subject of the show's plot twists which leaves one to wonder: Do you really know Jon Snow?
There is no question about Kit Harington's character Jon Snow being one of the ones that keep "Game of Thrones" going and receiving love from fans. This goes to show that sooner or later, people will be talking about him again after partial of his parentage was revealed in the Season 6 finale.
After learning that Jon's real mother is Lyanna Stark, there is good reason for some to rekindle the excitement brought about by the fan theory R+L=J. If this theory is indeed true, then Jon Snow would be Jon Targaryen.
Of course, 'Jon' is probably a name Ned thought of himself which leaves everyone to wonder: What is Jon Snow's real birth name? Fortunately, a "Game of Thrones" fan with Reddit username sparkledavisjr has a sound theory about that.
After watching and rewatching the scene in the Tower of Joy numerous times, sparkledavisjr decided that Lyanna was whispering Jon Snow's real birth to Ned and it is Jaehaerys. She said Lyanna was heard saying "his name is" but the sound and caption were both cut off. Of course, Lyanna's lips could still be read, something the fan just did.
After realizing this, sparkledavisjr concocted a connection between Jon's lineage and his real name. The Redditor said Lyanna was in love with Rhaegar which is why she named their son after two Targaryen kings: Jaehaerys I and Jaehaerys II.
Both kings have good records, according to sparkledavisjr. She also pointed out that Rhaegar was aware that one of his own children will be the prophesized "Prince that was Promised" who would defeat the white walkers and realized he would not have had another with his wife Elia which is why he seduced Lyanna Stark.
However, the Huffington Post pointed out a couple of things that does not add up with that theory. First, it is based on another theory that Lyanna loved Rhaegar, her kidnapper which is far from a plausible thought. Also, Jon Snow is not much like Jaehaerys I "The Wise" especially during the epic "Battle of the Bastards" where he almost met his demise if not for the arrival of the Knights of the Vale.
