Megan Boone Confirms Liz Keene Intended To Betray Red In "The Blacklist" Season 4

Megan Boone spoke to Entertainment Weekly, where she admitted that Liz had planned to desert Red in "The Blacklist" Season 3. Boone explained that Liz decided to get away from Red to learn more about her mother as well as her past.

In addition to that, Megan Boone shared that motherhood had a profound effect on Liz in "The Blacklist" Season 3.

"When she saw that the life of her baby was at risk because Red was in her life, it had gone too far," Boone stated. "No matter what her personal reasons for engaging with Red before, they all fell away with the birth of her child."

However, this doesn't mean that things will go smoothly for Liz Keen in "The Blacklist" Season 4.

Liz finally learned about her identity as Masha Rostova in "The Blacklist" Season 3. But will she find out more about herself without Red's help in "The Blacklist" Season 4?

Megan Boone addressed the possibility of needing help in "The Blacklist" Season 4, since she doesn't "foresee a Red-less future for Liz." However, Red will need to work with "a very different woman" and that he will have to "evolve and compensate for her newfound autonomy."

It certainly sounds like the tables could turn when the fourth season of "The Blacklist" airs this fall.

"The Blacklist" Season 4 will air on NBC on September 22.
