‘The Good Wife’ Season 7 Episode 22 News & Update: Finale Ending Disliked By Fans? Season 8 Now In The Works?

"The Good Wife" Season 7 finale is probably the most talked series ending in recent television history. For fans who have not yet seen the series finale, be warned, this contains "The Good Wife" Season 7 spoilers.

To say that the ending was a shocker would probably be an understatement. None of the numerous "The Good Wife" Season 7 finale spoilers could have guessed the slap that was coming.

Yes, it was a slap that literally ended the series. In the finale, Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) was slapped by his mentor Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski). And it seems all of those "The Good Wife" Season 7 finale spoilers did not see that coming at all.

But it was a stylish way to end the critically-acclaimed series as explained by "The Good Wife" creators. If fans care to remember, it was also a slap that started it all, when Alicia slapped her philandering husband, after she discovered his taste for expensive escorts in "The Good Wife" pilot episode.

But the ending did not sit well with some "The Good Wife" fans. Many believed that the seven years that "The Good Wife" spent in building audience rapport with its main character Alicia, the show's loyal audience feel that Alicia deserved a better ending than a slap.

However, "The Good Wife" creators Robert and Michelle King already anticipated this particular reaction from fans. Robert explained in a video that "To talk about the end of the series is probably to talk about the beginning of the series because we started with this feeling that it should begin with a slap and end with a slap," reports Entertainment Weekly.

But for "The Good Wife" fans, the attempt to make the story full circle just feels too contrived. And fans certainly believe that after seven years of being a good wife to her husband, she should have her own happy ending.

Sadly though, this might probably be the last "The Good Wife" spoiler fans will ever read. After seven seasons, CBS finally decided to cancel the show. But fret not loyal fans, "The Good Wife" Spin off is already in the works.
