DCEU News & Updates: 'Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition' Reveals Awesome Connections To 'Suicide Squad', 'Watchmen' And 'Justice League'

The DC Extended Universe continues to keep fans enthralled with the release of the highly anticipated "Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition." But what's so special about the 3-hour R-rated cut of the latest DC flick? Several Easter eggs and new connections to "Suicide Squad," "Watchmen" and "Justice League!"

The theatrical cut of "Batman v Superman" may have won in the box office, but the DCEU film was received poorly by critics and wannabe-critics alike.

Many complained that "BvS" was poorly edited and the storyline was rather disjointed.

Director Zack Snyder had the perfect solution to the "Batman v Superman" dilemma. The "Ultimate Edition" reveals the bigger picture and even reveals hidden connections to the future DCEU films.

"Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition" Teases "The End Is Nigh" With A Joker Reference

One of the deleted scenes from "Batman v Superman" featured a scenic view of the Gotham skyline. Screen Rant points out that the scene shows a vandalized billboard with the words, "The end is nigh."

DC fans immediately picked up on the message, which is an obvious nod to Rorschach's sign in "Watchmen."

The same message appeared in Zack Snyder's DCEU adaptation of the Alan Moore graphic novel.

The "Watchmen" tribute isn't the only interesting thing about the Gotham scene. Just a little to the right, fans noticed the unmistakable ACE Chemicals sign.

This is, of course, a clear reference to The Joker, who will soon be dipping Harley Quinn in a vat of chemicals in DCEU's "Suicide Squad."

The "Communion" Deleted Scene Happened After The Death Of Superman

Everyone already knows about "Communion" because no one will stop talking about the "Batman v Superman" deleted scene.

However, the scene fits nicely into "Ultimate Edition" as a reveal that bigger things are coming to DCEU after Superman died.

"Communion" effectively leads to DCEU's "Justice League," where the metahuman superteam will have to face off against Steppenwolf.

"Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition" is currently available for digital streaming.
