Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD Now Available for Playstation 3 from PSN

The HD re-vamp of the game that helped inspire a generation of kids to pick up a skateboard is now available for download on the PlayStation Network.

Boasting polished graphics and improved visuals, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD returns us to classic levels from the first two games, like the Hanger, Venice Beach, Downhill Jam, and more. Classic characters like the Birdman himself return, and we see a few new faces like Chris Cole and Nyjah Huston, even Tony's own son, Riley.

In addition to familiar faces and levels, you'll also be able to skate to some of your favorite tunes from past Pro Skater games.

It's a welcome addition to any gamer's online library, but some fans might be a little upset to learn that the revert move isn't included on the earlier levels.

Tony has said he hopes to add more features, levels, and characters down the road. In an April interview with IGN, Hawk said, "I want to release all new levels and not just live in the past like this...new skaters, new tricks, things like that, and release them as digital content so they're affordable."

Released earlier this month for XBLA, THPSHD managed to sell 120,000 units during its first week. DLC is in the works, adding in the Los Angeles and Airport levels from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, and restoring the "revert" move. At the moment, it seems reverts will be an exclusive only move to these two levels.
