Video game addiction is a common issue in China. Just recently, a boy was reported to have passed out after playing video games non-stop for six days. He was found to be suffering from a rotting foot infection, as well.
Reports say that a 19-year-old boy was found unconscious and lying on the grass near a train station. When the boy was found by the police, he asked the officers for some water. The boy's is reportedly called "Chen." He added that he had been wandering around for days already, Gaming Observer states.
Chen was reported to have not eaten for three days since he had no money to buy food. He recalled that he did not have money since he spent all of it in an Internet café. He said that he was there for six days straight to play online games.
Police who found the boy said that his feet were covered with mosquito bites when they found him. More so, his feet was in a bad shape and that a pungent smell was coming from it. The cause of the decay is still unknown and will be looked into by the authorities.
The police who found him took him into a cafeteria. There they gave him some food and water. When Chen was able to talk and give more information, the police were able to examine his identification card.
Authorities also found how to contact his family. When they got hold of his father and talked to him, he did not want to learn anything about his son initially. However, upon learning about Chen's condition, the father asked the police to bring him home, the Daily Mail reported.
According to Chen's father, the gamer went missing after he became extremely addicted to online games. He did not want to do anything at home other than play.
Conflict arose in their household and Chen ran away. The boy has been missing for a few days already and only turned up now. Hence, it is speculated that he spent all the days that he ran away from home in the Internet shop
