Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is not your typical ghost story gaming concept, at least not, in the eyes of director Koushi Nakanishi.
His idea of Resident Evil 7 apparently falls on the fact that gamers should highly relate to the main character of the game. At least physically, he will not delve on something that is the total opposite of the gamer.
In his interview featured on GamesRadar, nakanishi said "You can't be looking through the perspective of a macho, hero character because that's not you at home. Or maybe you are macho, I don't know [laughs]. It's sort of a powerless, ordinary person you're playing as. We're not really talking in too much detail about who they are right now, but they're an ordinary person stuck in an extraordinary situation. I think that really brings the horror right to the fore".
Although the team has developed some sort of a sequel to Resident Evil 6, they are maintaining the game's history of Zombie slayers. In fact, the survival horror game has its own version that says, it's not about ghosts, though it may look like it, but it's about the potential likelihood of events in real life.
Nakanishi also stressed out that, the idea of Resident Evil 7 being turned into an occult and supernatural story seemed an unlikely idea. All he advises is that, to look through the trailer or even try the demo in order to see the whole concept of the story. He also added "I think you can look at the trailer or the demo and get that impression, but don't worry, we haven't just thrown out Resident Evil as it exists and turned it into a ghost story. It will all make sense in the end".
