Dead Island Fans Should Be Looking Forward to Dark Shadows - Army of Evil (Watch Trailer Here!)

Dark Shadows - Army of Evil takes you back to September, in the year of our lord, 1362. A horde of monsters has been ravaging the country like a plague of locusts for over a year. While you were away doing your knightly duties of catching a runaway horse, the monsters stormed the castle, injured the king, and kidnapped Katarina, the love of your life.

So obviously, the story isn't gripping, and we've already seen a few dozen medieval monster games. So what sets this one apart from all the others? Like Dead Rising, it's a FPS, which is a rarity for any game set in the dark ages. Through 19 levels, you'll find up to 18 different weapons while exploring the world to rescue Katarina: Anything as common as a stone, to swords, flails, and ever necessary bow and arrow.

It may not be as polished, but it shows promise, especially when you consider that developer Burian Media is an indie studio, so you can't ask for too much. But it shows promise, especially with its 3D blood spatter scenes. Calculated in real time, the computer generates a random camera direction and angle for both the camera itself, and the blood effects. Check out the trailer below to see some of the gameplay.

The release date for the Indie-Title is announced for this fall, some time in either September or October. It supports both English and German, and will be a PC only title.
