After rumors about the "Red Dead Redemption" coming to the Xbox one Backwards compatibility feature surfaced online, too many speculations also followed. After all, the title once made it to the Xbox One Store, but was shortly pulled out from the list. Now, apart from what has been previously said as the reason why it can't be part of the backwards-compatible feature, another reason came up that may finally seal the absence of the "Red Dead Redemption on the Xbox One backwards compatibility feature.
Previously, GameNGuide reported that, the main reason why Microsoft can't seem to put the title on the backwards-compatible feature is due to licensing issues. In an interview with Microsoft's program manager Richard Irving, he said "After the technological breakthrough that got backwards compatibility working, the next step was to figure out how to license all this content, originally released on Xbox 360, for Xbox One... publishers have cut very specific deals on some of that content."
Now, it looks like there's more to the problem just plain licensing issues. In the latest report by MobileNApps, another reason has been about what Redditors have suspected all these times and that's the multiplayer issue of the game. Aside from "Red Dead Redemption", there are also other games that are not included in the Xbox One backwards compatibility list despite being voted by fans. Some of these titles include "Call of Duty: Black ops II" and "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim."
Also, Rockstar has not given any hopes to fans on whether they will bring the title to the backwards-compatible feature; not for "Red Dead Redemption," "Bully" or "Grand Theft Auto." So there we have it, despite numerous rumors that the "Red Dead Redemption is coming to to the Xbox One backwards compatibility feature, it may sound impossible at the moment.
