'Justice League' News, Spoilers, Release Date: Film will Feature Costume Changes for Batman And Wonder Woman

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" director Zack Snyder is working hard to please the fans of the franchise. While the 2016 film did earn a whopping $872 million in the box office, it did not quite meet the filmmakers' expectations in terms of how warmly (or lukewarmly) fans received the big budget film. With Ben Affleck's name attached to the franchise, many did flock to see the movie (thus the revenues), but it was the negative criticism that weighed down upon the people who made the film.

Now that the sequel to "Batman v Superman" is underway in London, Snyder is already reassuring fans that he, along with the rest of production, has heard their comments and are applying what they learned into the sequel. In fact, they've already started with the heroes' costumes.

When the first images of Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman for "Batman v Superman" were released, many questioned the stark difference in Wonder Woman's seemingly dark and muted costume compared to the bright red and blue costume the heroine wore in both the comics and the 1970's show.

Costme designer Michael Wilkinson told Comic Book that the Amazonian heroine's costume in the upcoming "Justice League" will feature a slightly brighter red than the muted maroon-like shade in the promo materials for "Batman v Superman."

"We've enriched the red a little bit," Wilkinson explained. "We always talk about centuries of congealed blood from her victims on the dress, so we really went for that really rich blood red on the dress. We increased and we exaggerated these sort of different golds and silvers."

As for Batman, Cinema Blend reports that the Dark Knight's new suit will feature more armor plates beneath the grey carbon-fiber mesh weave of the suit to provide the hero more protection during combat. "One new detail is that Zack wanted a little more sense of armor and deflection on his gauntlets when he is shot at, and so I designed these [gloves] that are kind of based on the samurai," Wilkinson commented. He added that Bruce Wayne learned martial arts in Japan, and these tiny details have made their way into his costume.

Aside from the costumes, Snyder promised that there will be changes in terms of how the superheroes are presented in the upcoming film. "Justice League" will hit theaters on November 17, 2017.
