“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” will be the first stand-alone film from the “Star Wars” franchise as it takes place even before the 1977 original film “Star Wars: A New Hope."
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” will center on the story of rebel spies who embark on a mission to steal the plans of the first “Death Star” but may encounter something else in the form of the “Sith Lord” himself or “Darth Vader” per Entertainment Weekly.
Word of seeing “Darth Vader” appearing on “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is not that surprising though it may render scenes that could help mold the series of events that occurred on the original “Star Wars” flick per ABC.
It will dig into the territory behind the core saga films of the first three “Star Wars” movies, prequels that should help tie up with other Lucasfilm features.
The spin-off is expected to be one of many other stand-alone films. Aside from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, another prequel in the works is the young “Han Solo” movie set for 2018.
James Earl Jones returns as the voice of Darth Vader
James Earl Jones will continue to be “Darth Vader’s” voice with a variety of talent embodying the actual “Star Wars” villain. Even at 85, Darth Vader just wouldn’t be the same without Jones’ iconic voice over though alternative ones have tried their hand at portraying the “Sith Lord”.
How much of Darth Vader are we going to see?
Aside from the fact that Jones is no longer as young as he used to be, the question on how frequent fans will see “Darth Vader” on “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” comes to mind.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy save you the trouble of answering that question.
“He will be in the movie sparingly,” said Kennedy via EW. “But at a key, strategic moment, he’s going to loom large.”
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” should be something worth looking forward to, another film set to debut on December 16.
