Why the 'Elemental' Derrick Rose Trade is Not Good For the New York Knicks

It's the end of the NBA season and trade rumors, draft picks and player scouting starts to fly around the NBA teams. But one of the most surprising among the NBA trade rumors is the New York Knicks picking Chicago Bull's Derrick Rose, trading Jerian Grant, Robin Lopez and letting go of Jose calderon's remaining year. It seemed like a viable idea, at least in the roster of the New York Knicks who've always wanted the quickest possible way around the NBA finals.

According to the Washington Post, it's quite typical of the Knicks to do such drastic move. Derrick Rose has been one of the most sought NBA player in the league, at least, that statement is true before his injury plagued career made a turning point in 2014. It might be a bit over the edge say, it was a good trade, but unfortunately, the New York Knicks is bound to get a totally different Derrick Rose this time.

Gone are the days when he ruled the floor. His knee injury woes made that clear and no matter how many times they get him to rehabilitation, the recurring injury obviously slowed down Rose' stellar start in the NBA.

Unless the New York Knicks can wound down better plans to have a concrete support on Derrick Rose, it's a bit disconcerting to think, he can bring the team to the finals. Try Carmelo Anthony who thought hard on his options whether to leave or not last year, the challenge is there and it may not be even in the court, but in their roster alone.

Talk about Jimmy Butler becoming the face of the Chicago Bulls, it might seem the only option as Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah will later utilize their free agency advantage later this month.
