A New 'Sharknado' Movie Is Coming And It's Called 'The 4th Awakens'; David Hasselhoff, Gary Busey Join Cast [Watch Trailer]

A new "Sharnado" film is currently in development. Titled, "The 4th Awakens," the upcoming film will feature a number of familiar characters and new stars.

The SyFy channel debuted the Sharknado series in 2013, and the movies has been a huge hit among fans. Since then, one movie has been released every year, starring Tara Reid and Ian Ziering. The fourth installment, which explains the title, will be released in July 2016.

ScreenRant wrote that David Hasselhoff and Gary Busey have already confirmed to appear in "Sharknado: The 4th Awakens." Previously, there were questions whether Tara Reid's character will return in the next installment, but SyFy recently presented a teaser that confirms how April Wexler fared since the premiere of "Sharknado 3." The video hinted that fans of the show will see more of April in the new movie.

In the new "Sharknado 4" teaser, a bloodied April was featured in the final moments of the third film. The narrator asked the big question of whether she survived the incident. The next scene showed her in much healthier form, training and getting ready to take on new challenges. The video also showed that the next setting will be in Las Vegas. There were scenes of sharks rampaging casinos, streets and a WWE ring, among others.

Entertainment Weekly cited that in the third installment, Sharknado fans were asked to vote whether April Wexler should survive or die, after the ending showed a space shuttle debris heading towards the character.

The next movie is set five years after the events of the third movie. In the past few years, Fin (Ian Ziering) and his family have been enjoying a world without shark-filled cyclones. However, the calamity is back. David Hasselhoff and Ryan Newman will reprise their roles. The new cast members include Busey, Imani Hakim, Cody Linley, Tommy Davidson, Cheryl Tiegs and MasielaLusha.

According to SyFy, there will be more cameos in "Sharknado 4." Comedian Carrot Top, YouTube star DeStorm Power, YouTube star Andre "Black Nerd" Meadows, Erika Girardi, comedian Gilbert Gottfried, Dolvett Quince, WWE Superstar Seth Rollins, YouTube sensation iJustine, Steve Guttenberg, MMA fighter Roy Nelson, JaxTayloer, Stassi Schroeder, Paul Shaffer, Hayley Hasselhoof and Taylor-Ann Hasselhoff have been slated to appear soon.

"Sharknado: The 4th Awakens" will premiere on July 31, 2016 on SyFy. The fourth installment will still feature its signature shark-filled tornadoes and other exciting moments among the characters.
