At times like this, I ask myself why I'm still paying for Fios.
A streaming video service that initially launched in the UK for iOS, Android, PC, and Mac, has now made its way to the XBox 360. The service, Sky Now TV allows gamers access to almost a dozen different movie channels, and navigation through the service supported by Kinect.
New users can try out Sky Now TV for free via a 30-day trial, but after that it'll cost £15 a month beyond those first 30 days for a Sky Movies Pass. There's also the opportunity to rent more recent films by paying a premium through the Xbox 360 app.Show full PR textNOW TV comes to Xbox
According to a press release, " New customers can also take advantage of a free 30 day trial of the service." After the free service period expires, the service will cost £15 a month.
Seems similar enough to Netflix, as the release describes viewers, "with a Sky Movies Pass can choose from over 600 movies, including recent blockbusters and classics from major Hollywood studios such as Disney, Fox, Paramount, Sony, Warner Bros., and Universal."
It also functions similar to various ondemand services of many cable providers, as "Customers can also 'pay & play' for instant access to an extensive range of over 1,000 movies through Sky Store including the very latest 'now on DVD' releases and much-loved classics. 'Pay & play' movies on NOW TV range from 99p for classic titles to £3.49 for the latest blockbusters."
The service will eventually make its way to other platforms and devices. Next in line is the PlayStation 3, and Roku streaming player.
