"The Conjuring 2" released on June 10 hit box office sales and fans can't help but ask for more. In a recent interview with the acclaimed director James Wan, he revealed that he may now have an idea how "The Conjuring 3" will turn out.
"The Conjuring 3" May Be Set In The 80s
"The Conjuring" franchise is one of the best horror movies in the recent years. The success of the movies is not entirely due to their execution, or how the stories were told.
The stories themselves, which is based on real life cases of paranormal incidents, make it such as a huge hit to its audience.
The fact that incidents in any of "The Conjuring" movies may actually happen in real life terrifies the audience.
As IGN said, real life paranormal investigators Ed Warren (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) have a lot of cases and stories that were collected from decades of investigating haunting and paranormal activities. Any of these stories can be used for "The Conjuring 3."
To quote James Wan, "They do have a lot of stories so I think, organically, if we're lucky enough to tell future chapters, there's a lot of stuff we could be pulling from."
He further added that if ever pushed through, "Conjuring 3" may be set in the 80s as the first two installments were both set in the 70s already. While he has a particular case already in mind, he refused to give further details.
Inside Secret In "The Conjuring" Movies
Meanwhile, EW recently sat down with director James Wan to ask details about "The Conjuring 2" particularly the program that keeps on turning up on the television in the haunted house.
Turns out, James Wan was a huge fan of the United Kingdom series show. The show called "The Goodies" starred Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie.
James Wan was delighted to include that in the film even though most Americans won't recognize it. He hoped that his friends in England would recognize it in the film and would laugh at the inside joke.
"The Conjuring 3" is not yet confirmed for production. Stay tuned for more updates about the franchise.
