Grand Theft Auto 5: New Screenshots Showcase Activities

RockstarGames has released three new images for Grand Theft Auto: V on the company's official news-wire. The images suggest some of the activities that gamers may be able to do when the game finally releases.

For fans of the acclaimed series these screenshots mean that Rockstar is finally ready to start divulging information about the upcoming game. Earlier this week the game publisher released some screenshots featuring the fictional sports car the cheetah, an image of the flying Hydra and an image that showcased cycling's return to the franchise.

The game still doesn't have an official release date yet, but it looks like the game will take players back to the fictional state of San Andres and hopefully the state's three cities Los Venturas, Los Santos and San Fierro.

The 2004 release was structured similarly to the previous games of the Grand Theft Auto 3 Series. The core gameplay elements consisted of driving and shooting in open world. On foot, the player's character was capable of walking, eating, running, sprinting, swimming, and training in various forms of hand to hand combat. This made the game feel more like a role-playing game.

The last game also did not have the awesome battles with enemy gangs. The gameplay mechanic prompted gang wars to start whenever the player killed three opposing gang-members in their territory. the mini-wars were won after surviving three waves of enemies. This element made San Andres feel like a real criminal world with warring fractions.

Unfortunately this console generation's Grand Theft Auto: 4 moved away from some of those elements and provided very little in character customization. Hopefully we will see the return of things like getting haircuts and exercising or gaining weight.
