Ticketmaster Releases List Of Over 400 Free Concerts Users Can Avail Tickets To

A 13-year long lawsuit against Ticketmaster has come to a close last week, and the company has agreed to refund $386 million in Discount Codes to users who have purchased tickets from them between October 21, 1999 to February 27, 2013, Advance Digital reports.

The lawsuit was filed back in 2003, when two clients purchased tickets from Ticketmaster to Wilco and Bruce Springsteen concerts, and claimed that the fees were exorbitant. In 2011, Ticketmaster and the complainants reached a preliminary deal on settlement that required the company to refund users.

Lead attorney Steven Blonder said that Ticketmaster has already released about $386 million in discount codes to its 57 million users, and that the company has already "changed the way it describes its fees and charges on its website so we get more clarity and transparency." The company has ben ordered to pay out $42 million within four years and at least $10.5 million a year moving forward. Users can now benefit from the payout via three options. The first is to avail of the $2.25 discount on any ticket, $5 discount on UPS delivery, or two general admission tickets to venues owned or operated by Live Nation Entertainment, the parent company of Ticketmaster, absolutely free.

Billboard reports that Ticketmaster has already published a list of over 400 concerts, which discounts can be used towards. This June, fans can use their discounts towards shows of Brantley Gilbert, Passion Pit, Keith Urban, Barenaked Ladies, and Soul Asylum. Other upcoming shows include that of Marianas Trench, The Wildflowers, Melissa Etheridge, Duran Duran, Gwen Stefani, Counting Crows together with Rob Thomas, Bush, Boys Like Girls, Def Leppard, Goo Goo Dolls, Rascal Flatts, Blink 182, Panic! At the Disco, The Cure, Bob Dylan, Mumford and Sons, Hall and Oates, Gary Clark Jr. and more.
