"Wonder Woman" celebrates her 75th birthday in 2016 and has transformed into one of the most famous superheroines, particularly after a huge scene battling Doomsday in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." The Amazon warrior is set to have her own standalone movie in 2017.
The "Wonder Woman" solo film is currently filming in Europe, starring Gal Gadot. Other co-stars include Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, LovenKongsli and Robin Wright. According to DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson, the movie will have its own tone and look beautiful. It will also have humor and real emotion in Diane Prince's journey as she discovers more about the complexity of man.
PEOPLE cited Nelson in revealing that the "Wonder Woman" movie will not feature the invisible jet this time. Fans of the superheroine continue to speculate which elements will be shown in the new film. Most likely they will see more of the red outfit that she wore in "Dawn of Justice." She may also continue using her traditional items, namely her golden lasso, gauntlets, shield and sword.
ComicBook noted that Wonder Woman's invisible jet has been closely linked to her through the years. The vehicle debuted in the comics in 1942 and was again seen in the 1970s TV series, which Lynda Carter starred in. Fans who look forward to seeing a modern iteration of the invisible jet can get a special 75th-anniversary figure of her piloting the aircraft. The collectible will be available on June 17, 2016. Wonder Woman was created in 1941 by psychologist William Moulton Marston.
Aside from the invisible jet collectible, there is a wide array of merchandise available to celebrate Wonder Woman's 75 years in the business. DC and Mattel will launch a special edition Barbie version of the hero at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2016. The costumes from the new film and a 75th-anniversary-panel talk will also be featured at the big event. DC has worked with several brands to introduce several items inspired by the Amazonian warrior, such as box sets, commemorative books, clothes, and accessories.
Nelson said that now is the best time to showcase Wonder Woman and all related items. Considering the overall conversation that is happening in the current culture, specifically having stronger gender equality representation in various fields, makes it the perfect time to feature a character like her. More updates and details on the new movie and 75th anniversary of the superheroine are expected soon.
